‘TRAVEL EXTRAVAGANZA’ COMING TO OKLAHOMA CITY AND TULSA

Travel shows to feature 17 cruise lines,
tour operators, attractions and travel companies.

NEWS from AAA Oklahoma, Jan. 14 – Multi-vendor travel shows are planned for this weekend in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, sponsored by AAA Travel.
The travel shows are open to the public and will include presentations by some of the top travel companies in the world along with trip planning tips from travel professionals and advice on how to find dollar-wise vacation values.
The shows are scheduled:

  • Saturday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tulsa Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center, Highway 169 and 71st St. in Tulsa;
  • Sunday, Jan. 17, from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Quail Creek Country Club, 3501 Quail Creek Rd. in Oklahoma City.

“This is actually an excellent time to plan a vacation,” said Krista Mullenger, vice
president of Travel, AAA Oklahoma. “The travel industry has experienced many economic changes this last year and so in order to attract more vacationers, travel companies are offering some exceptional deals.”

The cruise lines that will be represented at the shows include Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Carnival, Princess, Celebrity and Disney Cruise Line. Tour operators who will be on hand include Tauck, Trafalgar, Travel Impressions, Insight Vacations, Adventures Disney, Continental Airlines Vacations, Member Choice Vacations and Pleasant Holidays. In addition, representatives of Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Uniworld, a boutique river cruise provider, will be there.

“These are our biggest travel shows of the year,” said Mullenger. “There is a small admission charge but it’ll be worth it. We’re offering some extraordinary travel bargains that will be available only at these special shows.”

Admission is $2 for AAA members and $4 for non-members. Children age 17 and younger will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. For more information, visit www.AAA.com or call any of the 11 AAA Travel offices across Oklahoma.
