AAA OFFERS “TIPSY TOW” FOR THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY
NEWS from AAA Oklahoma, Nov. 18 – A free tow for your car and a free ride home for you are available from AAA Oklahoma if you think you’ve had a bit too much to drink at a holiday party and feel unsafe behind the wheel.
AAA Oklahoma’s “Tipsy Tow” community service program runs from
6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, through midnight on Sunday, Nov. 28, in metro Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Lawton, Ardmore, Enid, Muskogee and Shawnee.
The service is free to AAA members and non-members alike.
“We often hear of people taking chances and driving when they really shouldn’t simply because they don’t want to hitch a ride and leave their car behind,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “This way, everyone, including the vehicle, gets home safely.”
To call for Tipsy Tow, dial (800) AAA-HELP and ask for Tipsy Tow. AAA will provide a free tow and ride, no questions asked, within a 15-mile radius of point of pickup, for the vehicle and up to two people.
There is one catch: the only place AAA will take you is home. “This is the 20th year AAA Oklahoma has offered Tipsy Tow,” said Mai. “Our hope is that the program gets a lot of use. We really feel lives have been saved by people calling Tipsy Tow. For us, it’s well worth the effort.”
