AAA TO HOST SAFETY FESTIVAL & BLOCK PARTY

Event will feature free car checks, child car seat inspections,

entertainment, refreshments, giveaways,

NBA Thunder Girls and NBA Thunder mascot “Rumble.”

NEWS from AAA Oklahoma, April 6 – The largest safety festival AAA has ever put on will be held this Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the new AAA Operations Center, 3100 Quail Springs Parkway, in northwest Oklahoma City.

Vehicle inspections will be conducted to make sure cars are ready for summer travel, technicians will perform child car seat checks, and AAA will offer its popular CarFit program for senior drivers. All events are free and open to the public.

A “Thank You, Oklahoma” block party will be going on at the same time, featuring NBA Oklahoma City Thunder Girls and the NBA Thunder’s award-winning mascot, “Rumble,” along with free refreshments, live entertainment, door prizes, vacation giveaways, special offers from some of AAA’s best discount partners, free goody bags for all AAA members, exclusive travel and insurance offers, and food from local restaurants.

“We’re excited to be offering three free, vital safety events simultaneously,” said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. “CarFit helps ensure that mature drivers are able to use their car’s safety equipment to its maximum benefit. Car inspections are especially important now that the state no longer has a mandatory vehicle safety inspection program. And child car seats can be bewildering, particularly to young parents. It’s always a good idea to make sure they’re installed properly. Most are not.”

For more information, visit www.AAA.com/blockparty or call Chuck at (405) 753-8040. 3100 Quail Springs Parkway is located two blocks north of Memorial and two blocks west of May Ave.
